New Board Member Spotlight: Amy Anderson

Welcome Amy Anderson

Amy Anderson is an arts educator and the owner of ART & Soul Teaching Studio. She has been teaching art for nine years and loves guiding her students to a greater appreciation of themselves through art making. Amy attended UAB for Psychology and worked in substance abuse prevention before becoming a full-time teaching artist. Amy has always had an interest in painting but her true passion is in teaching and sharing the love of art with others. Recently she began writing her first book to encourage others to teach in their community.

Amy lives in Bluff Park with her husband and two sons. She moved to the area in 2019 and has attended the Bluff Park Art Show as well as the other area shows each year. She has displayed her work at many festivals and shows in the Southeast before focusing on arts education. Amy will be working with the BPAA arts education outreach and several other committees. She is a member of the Hoover Arts Alliance as well as the Greater Birmingham Arts Education Collaborative and the Hoover Small Business Alliance.
