New Board Member Spotlight Laura Bannon

Laura Bannon grew up in Auburn, Alabama, and attended Birmingham-Southern College graduating in 2003. She taught kindergarten for two years in Smiths Station, Alabama before moving back to the Birmingham area. In 2006, she completed her Master of Education degree at Auburn University and was hired to teach kindergarten at Bluff Park Elementary. In 2019, Laura completed her Education Specialist degree in Elementary Education at Auburn University.

She continues to teach kindergarten at Bluff Park Elementary. She loves to learn new ways to engage learners incorporating technology, art, and music in her classroom as often as possible. Her hobbies include knitting, sewing, reading, attending Auburn University sporting events, and finding the best burger in the Birmingham area with friends! In her spare time, she loves to volunteer for various events through her church, attend museum shows, musical concert events, and spend time with friends and family.
